Valery Voronov - Orchestrator

Valery Voronov jumped on board in the phase of orchestating the Gothic 3 soundtracks. For composer Kai Rosenkranz it was a first-time experience to work with a real orchestra, this he needed the help of an experienced orchestrator. Voronov became KaiRo's score advisor and provided him with useful hints concerning the creation of the orchestral scores.
Voronov, born 1970 in Moscow, started his musical education when he was only 7 years old. After successfully graduating from the Glinka College of Music he continued his studies at the Music Academy of Minsk with Prof. D. Smolsky being his mentor. He managed all courses with credit for his special achievements.
He joined Prof. H.U. Humpert's Studio of Electronic Music at the Academy of Music in Cologne 2001. He composed music for various projects in the field of broadcast, film and theatre, including the Film Theatre in Minsk, The Grend Theatre, the Film Studio in the Aalto Theater in Essen, Germany, the Inter-Theatre in Bochum and the radio station Deutsche Welle.

In the course of his career Voronov won numerous awards with his compositions. He even got the famous Tschaikovsky Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture Belarus (1992-1994).
In the year 1994 he won the Belarus composers competition with his Second piano sonata.

2001 Voronov was given the first prize for his piece Spring music at the inauguration ceremony of the Werner-Richard-Auditorium.
In the same year his Andante Luminoso for grand orchestra won the first price of the 5th International Composers Competition by W. Lutoslawski, and one year later - in 2002 - his composition Centaur for flute and strings won the first prize at the 8th International Composers Competition during the Vienna summer semester for new music.
